• BINKP Error

    From Biggieb@1:103/705 to all on Fri Mar 13 07:53:49 2026
    I'm at the tail of configuring FIDONET and I'm getting an error when polling using BINKP. I just received my node address from my RC and trying to finish the config. Not sure if this is stopping areafix sync. This is polling after sending %+ALL to areafix.

    3/13 10:41:37a BINKPOLL Peer version: Internet Rex 2.29 Win32

    ** -> 3/13 10:41:37a BINKPOLL Peer ended their VER with " (binkp/1.1)" instead of the required " binkp/1.1", but we're assuming binkp 1.1 anyway

    Nothing wrong there, it's just a warning message because the other end
    is using Internet Rex, which is old/obsolete/garbage. The poll should
    have worked normally despite that message. Did you get anything back
    from the hub?

    ... Gone crazy, be back later, please leave message.

    Looks good. That's just warning about your peer not conforming to the BinkP protocol spec.

    Thanks Rob! BTW - I think I miss config'd something and now getting this M_EOB error and Echomail doesn't seem to be working anymore, or my hub is no longer sending areafix requests back to me. Not even sure this is the problem yet but it's something new now. Wish I could easily completely clear all the Echomail/Fidonet configuration and simply start over. Think I've been messing with it too much and wasting way too much time on it. Should be easier but something is not right. Do you offer remote config services? LOL
