Change your access permissions(ACS) to "s255z?" to give you the only one available to see it. Mine are all set to s255z4.

You are talking about the Upload ACS? I tried that and there still is a Upload area in File listings. Under File Base Setting you can set the number to zero (displays Uploads as first) or a large number, like 99, and it places the uploads as the last area.
Maybe im looking in the wrong spot?

    imagine you have four file bases - ID = z = z1, z2, etc

    1 - Local
2 - Fidonet (stuff that comes over automatically)
    3 - FsxNet (as above)
4 - Fixed (Let's call this uncurated bulk files for one CD-ROM)

and you have one file area 'Uploads' that you only want in (and it only makes sense in) the 'Local' area.

the Uploads area will have a few ACS settings but the important one is "List ACS" .. where you want Uploads to show up. on my system this is set simply to 'z1' .. meaning it will only show up in the 'local' file base when i list the areas there

as someone else suggested you could also put in for example

    s255z1

and have it only list for the sysop and only if they're in group 1

    Heres my config:
Look under Mystic Configuration, Editors, File Base Editor, Uploads:
    Base Name Uploads
    Net Address 0:0/0 (Local Address)
    Export to 0 nodes
List ACS s255z4 (or whatever group it's in
    Upload ACS s255z4
    Download ACS s255z4
    Hatch ACS s255z4 (don't think it's pertinent)
Sysop ACS s255(z1|z2|z3|z4|z5|z6|z7|z8) this prevents it from showing up in any group other than z4
If an item is missing from above, leave it blank.

    Give that a shot.

OR, just create the uploads folder where it should be. No need to reinstall the whole package.

Yah, if you'll lose a lot of work by starting over then definitely just recreate it. But sometimes, for me, starting over is just a part of the learning experience. It helps become familiar with a system I'm completely new to. I respect someone who will make a bunch of changes just to see what they do, then wipe it all out and start over after borking things up lol.

    Keep it up!
