but satellite re-entries this year have already added more than 5 metric
    >>tons of aluminum oxide to Earth's upper atmosphere. SpaceX is the primary
    >>contributor, but their competitors are catching up in this unprecedented
    >>planetary-scale chemistry experiment. Full story @ Spaceweather.com.

I assume you mean they are doing this purposely, it's not just some
    >> side effect of the launches and materials burning up in flight?

The article was more about side effects and the fact that, thanks to
    >private companies, there are a LOT more satellites than ever before. Many
    >of them are in low orbit and not meant to stay in space for a long time
    >like the older ones, so they re-enter and burn up a lot more often than the
    >older ones.

I wondered about that.. I suppose on the plus side, if the older
satellites fall and burn up at least they are not adding to all
the space clutter we've put up there over the decades..

A lot of people panic over that but, again, if you read the
    >> scientific history, they figure the earth has had NO polar ice
    >> caps for possibly up to 80% of its existance..

Maybe Global Warming is not a disaster, just a correction back
    >> to 'normal'..

Agree. We have a hand in accelerating the process, but not in creating it.

Yes, there's been a lot of brainwashing over the years about Global
Warming and Climate Change and most who think it's a man made
disaster don't pay attention to the money being made using it as
an excuse to do something or change prices. If you blame yourself
for global warming you are less likely to complain about paying
$4+ a gallon (usa) for gasoline and higher taxes and such..

I think that is a lot of it. Some people figured out they could make money
off of it and here we are.

Yes, plus it gives people something else to worry and talk about
so they don't make as much noise about the 'usual' problems in
    the country..

Sort of the way that' every time Trump gets into trouble for
something, he goes out and starts another war to distract you.. B)

He actually isn't the first one to do this. His former buddy Bill Clinton
used some military actions to distract us from his problems, too... like
when he ordered an airstrike on a pharmaceutical factory claiming it was a chemical weapons plant in hopes that we'd stop talking about Monica
    Lewinsky.
