  • New to the echo

    Hello everyone,
    First time here and my first post. I listen to the scanner often. Mostly
    local fire, I have heard some strange traffic over the years, thats
    for sure.
    Just yesterday I heard a call for a "Tree FIre", I heard many calls for
    brush fires, but that was the first time I heard a call for a single tree.
    I don't know what it was all about, but sure got me thinking.

    Same here. I used to have a Realistic (Radio Shack) Pro 2004 I got back in the late '70s; lasted over 30 years. I live near a major airport so I was always listening to them, as well as the local PD. Nowadays I listen using various sites online: Live ATC for air traffic, Broadcastify for Emergency Services, Radio Garden for broadcast radio and various SDR networds for ham radio.

    I have a Uniden BCT15X, that my goto scanner when I am in the shack.
    When I am about, I use my Anytone 878. I have a beef with Broadcastify,
    so I won't be going there.

    I'm the author and operator of a local IMAS system in my area, so I
    listen to the local area so I can post on the IMAS system.
