That can and does happen. In this case I am finding tmpfs much more useful to me given the ram I have at my disposal. Compression would only slow things down. However, now that zramctl is on my radar, it is on the todo list. :-)

Sounds like a fair shake. :)

I left you a message in another echo, because I didn't know which one to put it in. It was about tith (This isn't That Hard)

    https://github.com/RealDeuce/tith

TITH is a modern store-and-forward protocol for FidoNet Technology Networks. >It combines a small set of versioned standards with a Rust reference mailer, >with the goal of making secure FTN transport straightforward to implement and >interoperate with.

The project starts from a deliberately simple premise: define one canonical >representation, authenticate every peer and payload, and keep legacy >conversion at an explicit boundary instead of carrying historical ambiguity >into the native protocol.

I don't know if that would interest you or not, but thought there was a chance it would...

    Hej andy5995!

    https://github.com/RealDeuce/tith

Took a looksee. Thank you for the tip.

I don't know if that would interest you or not, but thought there
    was a chance it would...

Sort of. I can already do most of what tith is advertising EXCEPT I don't have a need for rust, other than I have it for compiling firefox. The bash scripts currently can handle all the phoney-baloney formats including Type 2+ pkt headers, which puts me far ahead wrt any compatibilty issues, especially considering backwards compatibility. ;-)

Good to know but from my perspective I didn't see anything of any real value there. Also, while I am at it, viewing github with a text browser really, really sucks. They should be ashamed of themselves. ;-)

I left you a message in another echo

Which one? I don't subscribe to many but am willing to adjust if and when there is a need.
